Wensley Architecture’s objective for “Talon’s Claw” was to take advantage of the Mountain Course views with the dramatic backdrop of Mount Finlayson and Goldstream Provincial Park. The form and massing for the house are characterized by two defining roof features: an expressive sloped roof (10:12) with a split-gable design that cascades over flat roofs for the one-storey elements. The overall aesthetic is a highly expressive contemporary adaptation of mountain architecture.
Stone and wood siding define the exterior with contemporary charcoal accents. The wood and glass main entrance receives stone accents and is covered by an elegant flat roof, complete with decorative rain chain. Backing onto Hole 4 of the Mountain Course, the rear façade is treated with extensive glazing within the double-height living room and vaulted master bedroom.
